Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

@Chamcham, "that sort of exposure, eventually, you will die..."
Sadly, that's exactly what happened to one of our local pisteurs when he tried the same "couloir" a week or so later. Sad

For many people the holy grail of ski touring is the Haute Route which takes you from Chamonix to Verbier taking 6 to 8 days staying in mountain refuges.

I have done an overnight in one of the refuges the Vignettes Hut in Switzerland when my knees were younger. Magnificent views and a great sense of achievement.

Nowadays I would need a helo.

@gvj, I'm sad to hear that.
@HammondR, Looks like a nice ski. Anyone here skied it?i
I remember the Mythic Rider of ten years ago,a great ski. It was the first "fat" ski I'd been on, at 89mm IIRC.

@Chamcham, I haven't skied them but one of my touring chums bought a pair last season for not a lot of money from Sport Conrad. 97mm underfoot with Tectons and he absolutely loved them.

@TQA, what's with the negative waves?! You can't be that old; I bet you are a spring chicken. My climbing partner is 73, and I am planning to take him on his first touring this winter.

@Charliegolf, Ski touring is terrible, please tell all your friends that it is a waste of their time and to Stay in the Resort and ski on piste Smile
And if you are having to ask what it is , then its probably better that you take up sea kayaking or buy a motorbike, but def not ski touring Smile

@TQA, I have a booklet on that walk, but it says it ends in Zermatt and not Verbier. Maybe the ski tour is shorter?
