I have been searching for somewhere to go for NYE this year in Switzerland.
I have in mind a smallish guesthouse with a restaurant. But how do you find these places!? I have searched online but not found much without going on to the website of each individual ski resort Also tried booking.com etc.
Is there anywhere where they are all searchable? Or does anyone have any suggestions?

If you want an Auberge with skiing nearby then I can recommend the eponymous Auberge La Tzoumaz - essentially a small hotel with a restaurant, as opposed to a catered chalet (which are confusingly often called guest houses). It's a 100m walk away from the main télécabine and 200m from the centre of the village. La Tzoumaz is one of the satellites of Verbier, in the 4 Vallées. The village is more family-oriented than the glitzy, party-hound Verbier. We stayed here when we were looking at property in the summer (and eventually bought an apartment). See what you think. I'm sure you'll get lots of suggestions. The Bains de Saillon are about 30 min drive away in the valley if you fancy a day out at a thermal wellness resort. The view from the restaurant windows is great. Should be a lot cheaper than anything similar in Verbier as well. But it's not ultra-luxury modern: more cosy and slightly old-fashioned dark wood, but that might be what you're looking for. You can get to to La Tzoumaz by train/télépherique/bus but you'd have to plan the flights to get into GVA in the morning, to avoid the lunchtime gap in the buses up to the village and it does take about 4-4½ hrs albeit the route up from Riddes station via the téléphérique http://youtube.com/v/SvEzEw34N0M to Isérables then bus is scenic).
The only other thought I has was for you to stay in one of the Mountain huts like the Cabane du Mt.Fort, which would certainly make for a memorable New Year's Eve and Day. But I imagine they're fairly booked-up and might not be everyone's cup of tea and you'd tend to have to share accommodation:
Try searching “hotel-restaurant” suisse or schweiz?

@cartedesally, I'm not aware of any central place where you can search for such hotels. A couple of recommendations, depending on what you are looking for:
Hotel Besso, Zinal: "rustic" hotel with great views over the end of the valley and glacier. Friendly staff, really excellent food, and they brew their own beer too. They don't seem to advertise it online but if you book by phone they will usually offer a half board menu at a fixed price which is very good and very good value. Not all their staff speak English but one is completely fluent. Zinal is very quiet, skiing generally at the advanced end.
The River House Hotel, Andermatt: small boutique hotel in the centre of Andermatt. Food was also excellent but I've not been since it changed hands. Lots going on in Andermatt and skiing to suit all levels.

I think the general takeaway is that such things are not generally hard to find.
Are Swiss resorts fun at New Year?
And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.

Verbier = yes.
The rest = no.
Austria, France and Italy are funner.
So if you're just off somewhere snowy come back and post a snow report of your own and we'll all love you very much

Look at Weisshorn Hotel St Luc. This is different on many levels, its an expedition to get there. It can be used as a super base for some ski touring.
You know it makes sense.

@cartedesally, tiscover.com and bergfex.com are searchable for accommodation in Switzerland.
Otherwise you'll just go on seeing the one name:

Val d’Anniviers has lots of hidden gems in the most beautiful of Swiss Alpine villages, St Luc and Grimentz in particular. The skiing around Grimentz and Zinal is quite special and one of the best kept secrets in The Alps...according to snow magazine, it is this year, the number 2 ski resort in The World!!!
Great place, Dutch owned so it will have life at NY unlike most of CH ime, unless Verbier.
Used to go but now CH is crazy money, head east to AUT is my suggestion, much better value, great skiing and it’s full of the Swiss too who have now realised it’s better than home.
