Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Marker squire schizo don't work with smaller boots.......Grrr

Poster: A snowHead
Just got my daughter some new boots, same size but much stiffer, and the shell size is smaller than her old boots, new ones are 266mm and old ones were 273mm.

so went to adjust the marker squire schizo on her off piste skis to set the new forward pressure, and they will not do it, even though the binding has 265mm to 275mm marked on the metal piece just in front of the heel piece, and that is what the screw is fitted to, and the front quadrant on the toe is on the smallest, they will not adjust down far enough. The rear heel screw hits the stop, with loads of screw showing when the boot is in, and it needs to be flush for the correct pressure.

Base plates mounted too far apart?

Or more likely the cable has stretched - which they do before they snap!

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

@spyderjon, Thank you....Cable should not have stretched, they have not been used very much.

Edit: I have checked with a paper template and the base plates are in exactly the right place, the cable and the central screw in metal block that you adjust for different size boots just do not move the rear heel binding forward enough for a 266mm boot, the metal track at the rear of the heel just runs out of adjustment to set the forward pressure, it would need another hole in the metal block to enable it to have more adjustment. Going to swap them out for a pair of squire demos.
