Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Ski train to Bourg

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Hi,

I'm booking the ski train to Bourg (tickets just went on sale last week). Can anyone remember which coach number is at the front of the train when we arrive in Bourg? I'm aware that the train turns round in ?Albertville, so does that mean that Coach No 1 is the furthest from the front of the train when we arrive? If that's the case, I know it can be a long trek with lots of luggage along a snow covered platform.

Similarly coming back. Which coach arrives at St Pancras first?

Many thanks

Welcome to snowheads @Red penguin 2020, i've got to say i don't remember that happening at all on the night train. Maybe I missed it but I'm pretty sure we carried on in the same direction all the way (this was in 2017)

They all reverse at Albertville - it is impossible to do anything else. So, at both Bourg & St Pancras, coach 1 is nearest to the buffers and coach 18 is furthest away.

Direct Eurostar only goes to Moutiers, Aime and Bourg St Maurice. So for Trois Vallees, Valmorel, Paradiski, Espace Killy, La Rosiere, Sainte Foy.

Plenty more options if you take Eurostar to Paris and change there.

It does reverse at Albertville, however I have never seen any snow on the platform including last season.

If anything, it is easier to unload your stuff when you are at the tail as you don't get run over by the maddening crowds
