Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Chambery to Tignes

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Hi Snowheads, booked flights into Chambery for a trip to Tignes in March. First time to this airport and after a bit of research there doesn't appear any of the usual transfer options that I get from Geneva, Bens Bus, Altibus etc. Am I missing something? Is there a cost effective easy way to get to Tignes from Chambery?

@Coco, which day and what time do you arrive in Chambery?

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Saturday to Saturday, arrive 13.05, depart the following Saturday 13.50. Return transfer looks equally difficult

Can't find the thread, but didn't we get quite alot of options on this one recently. Certainly discussion was had.

Train to BsM and then onward by bus to Tignes is one option.

Check rail timetables to Bourg St Maurice.
Taxi to either Aix Les Bains or Chambery Challes Les Eaux rail station. Train from either of those to BSM. Bus stop to Tignes immediately outside rail station. Not too expensive and not as messy as it may look.

Or maybe phone TUIs (Crystal) flight only contact number and ask if they’ll sell you one if their transfer bus places. About £70 return last March.

Car rental a reasonable cost option if 3 or more in a group. Not a relaxing drive and car not much use in Tignes. Also have to park it, usually expensive charges.

@Coco, You're spot on with the transfer problems. The Alti bus times look terrible. However as @PeakyB, says, get a taxi to the station, a train to Bourg and the service bus from there. One the reurn try and book the taxi from Chamberey station in advance. They can be tricky to pick up from the rank.
