Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Edge Angles for ELAN SLX Fusion to use on dry slope

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Hi everyone!

I´m quite new to the dryslope world, therefore I would like some good advice from the dryslope Gurus out there!!
I am about to buy a pair of ELAN SLX FUSION (155cm) that I intend to use for some racing, nothing too serious, just fun races.
I have spoken with the seller (http://elanskisales.co.uk) and they told me that the skis come from the factory with 0.5 degrees edge base angle and 90 degrees side edge angle.
Any suggestion about the right edge setting for this model?
My idea is to set them with 87 degree on the side and leave the 0.5 degree on the base.
I am currently skiing a pair of Atomic Redster SL and they are 1 degree on the base and 3 (87) on the side.

Any help, tip, idea would be more than welcome!!
Thanks in advance Madeye-Smiley Madeye-Smiley Madeye-Smiley Madeye-Smiley

Welcome to snowHeads.

They come with an 89 side edge not 90. And yes, leave the base at 0.5 and set the sides to 87. You'll probably need to trim the sidewalls back first.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?
