Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Ski the Season

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Has anyone got any recommendations for renting a ski apartment for the Season 2018/2019. We have been skiing on/off for nearly 40 years piste skiing, Would ideally like 3 bedroom apartment near decent ski area and not too mega expansive so that our kids and friends can join us through out the season. We would also like to take out old labrador dog.

Will be bringing the car as well, with snow tyres as well.

Thanks

Not sure what you call mega expensive. A 3 bed place near to a good ski would be over £20k for a season, possibly quite a bit over.

 Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

I believe the owner of Live the Season, which does that kind of business, is a snowhead. Have a look and talk to him/her.

@simsy, welcome to snowheads!

Don't believe everything you read, particularly ^^^^^^^, a 3 bedroom property near a decent ski area needn't cost anywhere near €20k if you don't want it to.

To give you a better idea of what 3 bedrooms can cost;

In Chamonix from €6k
In Courchevel from €9k
In La pLagne from £11k
In Les Arc from €13k
In Les Deux Alpes from €15k
In Morillon from €17,250
In Morzine from €9k
In Samoens from €11.5k
In Val d'Isere from €14k

Drop me a pm or email (Marcellus@livetheseason.com) if you want a hand finding somewhere.

Do you have any clues to get the discussion going - a preference for country, for example, or a rough budget for accommodation, or any other requirements that might help narrow the options down?

First try to narrow things down - do you have a preference for country? Or resort?

Thanks for the responses, I feel it will either be Austria or France and hopefully we can stretch to €15K.

I fancy Austria with the SuperSkiCard https://www.superskicard.com/de, but the wife would like to brush up her French , so we are open.

Would like to be walkable to a lift , but as I have been commuting to London for years , happy to get on a bus or car for 15 mins, as it will be better than any commute

If your apple is "a 3 bedrooms property" then no, no mistake.... 3 bedroom properties in Chamonix start at €6k and in Morillon from €17.2....................

 So if you're just off somewhere snowy come back and post a snow report of your own and we'll all love you very much

You also have one bed places for more than all of those sums quoted. Are these prices for properties that have no heating or something?

Thanks for the plug @Bar Shaker you're right we do try and cover all property sizes at all costs in most resorts, if you want a cheap bed in a shared apartment we can find you one for €2k or if you'd like a Chateaux then the price tag is €110k and everything in between!

Obviously as in any property market costs are driven by location, quality and what the owners wish/need to earn!

Everyone would like a superb 5 bedroom, 5 bathroom ski in/out chalet for only €5k for the but then we work with them on what's important to them and what they can afford!

+1 for @marcellus, we were quite last minute and he helped us through it and managed to get us organised despite others falling through on us
