am off to mayerhofen on weds for 3 - 4 days..... mixed bag of skiers strong to intermediate.... 7 blokes early 40's who should no better, usually have one big night in us..... ski and beer opinions and advice welcome as have never being before

Elk bar at top of the penkenbahn to start the apres then last lift down, straight into ice bar next to base station (you'll probably only want to do that one once!). Then loads of choices! Don't miss pork sandwiches from the deli across the road. We ended up having them before first lift and after last, they're that good!

+1 to above. other options pilz bar at the top of the penken and across the river the bruck n stadl( my fav apres bar in the alps). go to the glacier for a day but only on a clear day. its class

Yeah, Bruck n stadl is good, bit quiet early on but packed later.

That big place in Finkenberg can also be great for apres, taxi or bus back though. According to the latest piste map, it looks like you can't ski down it anymore, is that correct?
