Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Piste Closure Claims - Evidence

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Friends are in Austria and the whole resort is closed today with advice to stay in the hotel. Thankfully neither of us have ever had to claim for piste closure before. Not sure whether it will be much worth it if its just today but does anyone know what the insurers will accept as evidence?

@robboj, Has the information about the resort closure and to stay in the hotel been on either the lift company or tourist office websites? If so perhaps take a screen capture?

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Otherwise email the tourist office. You might get a refund at the the ticket office.. insurance excess may well be more than the cost of the pass

@Alastair Pink, They are one and the same in Obergurgl but the status page shows zero lifts open so I've captured that for them. The stay indoors advice was from the hotel which I suppose from the point of view of bar takings etc is predictable..

@holidayloverxx, yes I suspect that will be the case but tomorrow isn't looking too clever either and Tuesday is very windy so thought to build the evidence now.

La Plagne was closed on Wednesday.

I went into the lift pass office and they gave me a letter to say it was closed - very straight forward (they had them printed out in bulk).

Remember a claim for piste closure is different to a refund on the lift pass. Check to see if the lift operators are providing this.
