Just back. If you can get anything for 10E other than chips, let me know, I'm back there in Feb! Mottaret this time: 2 pizza, GnT, small beer and a coffee- 50E. Just checked the bill, pizzas were 14 and 17 respectively. Barometer bar has been refurbed and has a resturant side. Meal for 4, with at least one drink each (can't recall if we had a bottle of wine) 184E.

The self service at the Folie Douce does amazing tartiflette at a reasonable price. Mrs Rhoobarb calls it a dish of heaven.
The Bouc Blanc above La Tania is a good shout - the menu du jour is very good, and the tartiflette (again!) is lovely.
The restaurant on the left at the top of the Biolley piste into St Martin de Belleville is also a favourite. Can never remember the name. They do really good sausage and chips.
The burgers at the Rond Point look good, although I haven't had them.
Folie is always the favourite - time flies on a sunny day with a beer and the tartiflette!

@Levi215, if you're over in VT direction at lunchtime I can recommend the Chalet des 2 Ours, access via Boismint or Plan d'Eau chairlifts. Good home made food. La Carte

Hi @Levi215, There was some discussion on this topic on the Three Valleys 2017/2018: Méribel, Courchevel, Val Thorens, Les Menuires, La Tania, St Martin thread http://www.snowheads.com/ski-forum/viewtopic.php?t=133545&start=320. My recommendations for lunch are: The Cafe del Mot (ground floor of the Hotel Mottaret) in Mottaret (9.95 Euros for plat du jour or burger and chips plus a drink (beer, wine or soft) and the Aux Petite Onions in Meribel 1600. For dinner, I would recommend La Croix Jean Claude in Les Allues. Their a la carte menu is fairly expensive but their three course menu is excellent and good value at 24.50 Euros. The Meribel Un-plugged '3Vs Lunch Guide', which can be picked up in a lot of bars & restaurants, lists some of the better value establishments but check prices.

I haven't used them myself but have heard good reports about Chalet Kitchen https://www.chaletkitchen.com/menus/index.php. Their prices are more reasonable than many of the restaurants, particularly for large groups. Several of the super markets do take-away pizzas; roast chicken and a dish of the day, which are considerably cheaper than eating in a restaurant. Otherwise, there is an Aldi in Albertville . Eating out at lunch time is generally far cheaper than in the evening.

@FrediKanoute, downstairs in Le Refuge is the best I can think of. More pizza than chicken and chips though. Might need to book.

The Refuge is good, but if you go upstairs its more a la carte. Downstairs is great for Pizza

Hi guys we are heading to Meribel at half term, but are self catering. I know in La Tania there is a wonderful deli where you can get great pizza and rotesserie chickens.
Does anyone know if there is something similar in Meribel? We are in the centre (not the Village or Rond Point).
Also, does anyone know of supermarkets that deliver to the chalet?
Thanks

You know it makes sense.

FrediK, the Spar in Gallerie de Cimes (Rte du Centre) has a landie outside advertising free delivery. We were there 10 days back and used it for breakfast stuff and more, but we were 50 m away so walked. Good stock of breads and so on, good wine rack; and a butcher and cheeserie in the same run of shops. SIL is a chef and stocked for meals in all from within 100m.

Zig Zag in Mottaret has never let me down. Two course skiers menu for 16E and it's always been delicious. Wine reasonably priced too.

If you like meat and want to go high end some night then Chez Kiki has always been good.
Apparently Kiki himself has stepped down recently so it might not be as good as it used to be. |
It is!

Just thought i'd update on what we've found, all the below have been recommended and have delivered...
Raclette @ La Gallette
Pizza @ L'Igloo
Everything @ Kiki's
Beef @ Le Sepp
We've been told Le Refuge has been taken over couple of years ago and apparently 'gone down hill' so haven't tried it. Would certainly not recommend La Flambee, our meal just didn't work, some real fundamentals wrong..
