Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

JAPAN BACKCOUNTRY ADVICE PLEASE

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Hi there,

My brother (Skier) and I (Snowboarder) will be visiting Japan at the end of Feb for approx 5/6 days of mountain time.

I'm currently researching options and could do with some advice.

Ideally we'd like to visit a spot which offers good challenging off piste (we'll be hiring guides). If theres a heli or cat option even better ($ permitting).
We're confident riders and after a more traditional vibe. Not bothered about partying.

Can anyone recommend the best spots for this type of trip? Has anyone got a tour company they could recommend? Any decent budget/mid range accommodation?
Do we stay on the main island or head north?

Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

@BLC1982, welcome to Snowheads! May I suggest you try the search function - you’ll find a wealth of information on this topic.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

@BLC1982, As suggested above there are many Japan based threads on here.

If you are really starting from scratch, you may have left it a little late for some areas. When I first went to Japan I started on the Powder Hounds website, and contacted a tour operator from there. I’ve been with Whiteroom Tours for the the last 2 years, and will be going with them again in Feb.
