Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Edge/base dent/hole in tip of ski...

Poster: A snowHead
So I've managed to hit something and make a bit of a dent and small hole between the edge/base material the rest of the ski - there's a little bit of a hole there, I can get my fingernail in and it definitely collects snow...

Sad

It's a rocker and I'm not thinking a ding like this would affect performance - but I'm wondering if there's something I can and/or should do in this situation?

They're still reasonably new skis and I was hoping still far far away from needing any servicing but I'm suddenly incredibly nervous now... so searching for any advice I can find!

Many thanks!

Was about to type something along the lines of “needs drying, bit of epoxy and clamping...” but the the oracle of all things ski related got there first Laughing

On your advice I took it to a ski tech in the village who discovered something else when taking a look, which caused him concern, gap pictured above base on the top ski

He's suggested that I check the warranty/contact the retailer before letting him work on it... Sad

Guess there's some customer support fun ahead or getting it clamped and trying to forget about it all...

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Hope warranty works for you, if not, dry, open it up a bit, work epoxy in and clamp Very Happy

You'll need to Register first of course.

The shop want me to take it back in person to make a warranty claim, though I wasn't intending on being back in the UK for a good few months.

Looks like I'm finding a shop to epoxy and clamp Sad - feels like a better idea than buying new skis and waiting months to try for a warranty which doesn't feel like a sure thing.

Thanks again.
