Looking at grandvalira webcams Andorra looks absolutely jointed. Worse than you'd see midterm anywhere. I assume it is end of semester student day trippers.
I hope it's quieter next week, I'm planning a trip there.

The Spanish mega-bank-holiday starts tomorrow, and so all Spanish and Andorran resorts - and many French ones - are pulling out all the stops. It's been fantastic (though cold) weather the last three days, and although there's been a bit of trouble with the wind most places are offering some very decent conditions on the northern side of the range.
Oh that explains the million people on the Pas De La Casa webcam this am. Thanks for all the pics Pyremaniac have fun.

It's modern selfie culture. All the kids hang around webcams so their mates see them.

I haven't got a clue about Andorra, but I'd like a change.
Where would someone suggest I take my misses for a week in early February?
She's a timid skier. And an even more timid Apres Skier.
Likes chocolate, Prossecco and shopping.

I meant the lift queue for the gondola up to ski school was huge this morning....
45 days to go

And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.

I usually go to Andorra in Feb half term, but El Tarter rather than Pas.
It will be busy for the first 4 days (Carnival weekend until the Tuesday) then notably less people as the locals go back to work/school.
Just get out of bed early for the 9am lifts. By 9.45 you may be in quite a queue. Also consider lessons on the first few days, as you'll get priority in the lift line. Another trick is to go in the singles line that they have on some of the wider lifts.

We were in Pas at half term this year (feb17) lift queues were fine, no more than a few minutes at worst (usually straight on).
Mind you we avoided the gondola up to the ski school, we used to go up one of the chair lifts and ski across/down to ski school. Anything to avoid having to take off and carry skis, especially with two kids. Providing you're not complete beginners you'll have that option if gondola queue looks bad.
The only spot where there were regular queues was the link back to Pas from soldu, where there is only one lift option. I wouldn't leave it until thelast lift to try and get back across!

The slopes in Grandvalira are perfect for a timid skier, lots of cruise blues. Soldeu is a particular favourite. Not the best for shopping though.

x2 for Soldeu as a a place to stay.
Andorra has some excellent shopping, but you'll need a car or be happy to take a bus.
I've been to Pas and there have been just as many or even more coaches of shoppers coming up the mountain as skiers.
Or if you are after a more high street type shopping experience you can head down to Andorra La Vella.
Says my OH ! But be warned she also like popping into the Sport Hermitage for the Spa and insists on Champagne at lunch because it's tax free and as cheap as a bottle of Prossecco in London !
