Need help with adjusting Atomic XT 12 binding

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Hello,

I have recently bought second hand ski Atomic Vantage X 80 CTI with Atomic XT 12 (https://shop.atomic.com/en-fr/products/xt-12-ad0159.html) bindings. My boot length is 339 but the binding does not have such setting. Possible values are:
    front setting: ..., 329, 337, 345, 353, 361, ...
    rear setting: ..., 333, 341, 349, ...

The red colored values are the values I have set at the moment. I found some illustration that shows that I need to adjust the rear setting in such a way that the cylindrical thing to be in the middle: http://www.offroad-bulgaria.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=935695&d=1509286043

Here are some photos I took:

The size settings: https://imgur.com/cDurlVL

I am really worried if this is the correct adjustment for the forward pressure and also if the red values are the correct positions for the binding adjustment.

Thank you!

Hi and welcome snowHead

Ok, first set the front of the binding. I have an Atomic XT10 I think, and whilst it is a little different, the rail has a scale where each notch is value x to y e.g. 324-330. If yours only has one number on each notch, then pick the nearest, so 337.

Ignore the scale at the rear. Adjust the rear part of the binding until the green marker is showing correctly when your boot is in place. Sorry, I canít check your photos as the links donít work, but it sounds like you may be a little far forward from the centre (although sometimes a slight forward adjustment is preferred, it sounds like youíre going for the centre for now).

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Oh, and do you know how to calculate and set your DIN? I should add that if you are not certain you have set them up properly, take them to a shop to be adjusted.

I have just edited the post with the correct links. At the moment I haven't gotten to the DIN adjustment but online calculators show that for my height of 185cm and weight 96kg a setting of 6.5 is the correct one. I am not so experienced and aggressive but tend to ski fast sometimes.

Edit:

I have changed front to 337 and took couple of photos:

front 337 + rear 357 - https://imgur.com/NZoz7ov
front 337 + rear 349 - https://imgur.com/QP31JfB
Which one is better?

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

I canít see the green tab, so they are probably set too wide. Do what Iíve just suggested by starting with the front, and check it again.

I have just edited my previous comment and added two photos with your suggested front setting. The tab is not green, it is actually silver like.

Which of the two settings is better?

@borisoff, you have the skis in front of you Ė when compared to the instructional diagram, which one appears to be correct? I canít really definitively tell you, as I am only looking at photos, but I can help you work it out for yourself Cool

On both of the pictures the indicator is in the OK area so I think they both should be fine and I need to pick one of them, may be the second one that is a bit tighter. Thanks for the help Madeye-Smiley
