We are going skiing in January to La Plagne our 20 month old daughter will be coming with us and hoping to let her try skiing for the first time. She is an infant uk4 maybe 5 by time we go. Any idea on if I can buy or rent little boots and maybe 60cm skis? or is anyone selling any? Thank you

@srmania, I don't think anyone makes below Mondo 14 or 15 which is about a size 6-7 - when my youngest was that age (about 5 yrs ago) Head did the smallest boots you could get and 15 was the smallest.
The strap-on plastic skis are about the only way to go at that age. Frankly, a pair of strap on skis, a sledge and a bucket and spade will probably be a lot more fun.

I think the youngest that any ski school will take a toddler is 3yrs. We took my 3 yr old niece last year to les arcs and she went into Club Piou Piou with ESF for the afternoons, she aboslutely loved it we rented equipment from a shop AlpinResorts.com who were brilliant and very reasonably priced

Personally I wouldn't bother at 20 months. At 2.5 you might get somewhere. 3.5 you and they really start to get it.

Thanks everyone we have a 4 year old too and he has been having ski lessons in UK as she is so small we know not going to be able to do a lot was just hoping to take her on the magic carpet. As she has an older brother I know she will want to try she thinks she is 4 herself 😂

Can you rent strap on skis in resort? Never thought of taking a bucket and spade!

4 year old on the magic carpet will work well IME. Both ours started like that at 3 to 4
You should be able to get strap on's if too small for proper kit. And yes sledge, spades, etc. great idea.

@srmania, bucket and spade a huge hit with ours at 2yrs old. She loved making snowcastles for her brother to either slalom round, or squash.
Strap on ski rental is very common around here, often free with adult skis. Or you could probably buy a pair on ebay for a tenner.
At age 2, a typical 2 hour session with our daughter would be 2-3x 10-15min goes on skis, 30 mins of sledging, 30 mins of snowcastle building and 15 minutes of (believe if or not!) transceiver practice!
