Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Any hotels (flying into Geneva) that offer mid week breaks ?

Have decided only to do five days skiing this year in January from Geneva and my mates have asked me to sort a mid week break mon-fri.

I’m having trouble finding a hotel that is willing to offer mid week accommodation online.

The only likely option is the hotel Telemark in La Tania, does anybody know of anymore within three hours of Geneva ?

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Found a number of options on booking .com in Chamonix valley on randomish Mon-Fri dates.

Not sure why you're having such a problem?

Try Skiweekender based at St Jean de Sixt midway between La Clusaz and Le Grand Bornand. Despite their name they do midweek breaks I think and less than an hour from GVA.

As others have said, the hotel booking sites usually turn something up. Hotels.com, expedia, booking.com, last minute.com, etc are places where I’ve gone for midweek travel. When you find a hotel, speak to it directly as you can often get a better deal that way. Some small hotels have told me before that they have restrictions in their contracts with the big booking sites that prevent them from listing lower prices on their own websites.

If you’re considering Val d’Isere, I’d recommend Hotel Le Kern as a midweek option. It’s only a 2* but the location is excellent and the hotel is perfectly adequate.

 snowHeads are a friendly bunch.

It might be worth making the enquiry to a local Tourist Office and let them do the work for you. They often have good contacts in the local hotel community. As mentioned, a lot of hotels' are very amenable to weekday-to-weekday stays, but for contractual or website reasons, you don't see this online.

And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.

@2planks, We do a mid week trip to Pila most years and have never had a problem. In fact they are quite glad to be able to take the weekend bookings from locals.
We use pilaski.co.uk to do all the leg work as everything is all sorted for when we get there. 2.5 hrs from Geneva on a normal run, though we have started using Turin now as the flights became available from Manchester.

Does it have to be a hotel? Airbnb is another option

Try Rockypop hotel in Les Houches (Chamonix Valley), I'm trying out a midweek break this February, it looks like an interesting concept. Hotels.com charged me £230 for a twin room for 4 nights, bargain!
