Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

UCPA Val D'isere

 Poster: A snowHead

Hi there

I'm a 30 year old intermediate skiier looking for a solo trip in next year.

Sadly I've missed the UCPA discounted prices, but UCPA does look like the best option for a solo traveller so am thinking of booking on to the UCPA Val D'Isere week 6th - 13th January, full time instruction.

Anyone else scheduled to go that week and travelling from London?

Can't comment on Val but I recently stayed on my own in UCPA Chamonix (summer season) and highly recommend. Great value, lots of food (seriously, lots of it!) and nice to be in an international accom for a change. Will try it in winter at some point.

The UCPA is great, I've been with them a few times always good fun, you'll struggle to find better value as a solo skier.

The full time instruction is worth it so you have a group to ski with though calling it "instruction" is a little generous in my experience, view it more like a resort guide that gives some skiing tips wink

Have you had a look at Tignes? Not as much night life but the UCPA centre there is only a couple of years old.

I'm sure you'll have fun whichever centre you go to.

Been to Val D'Isere and a few other UCPA Centres now, Val was great a fair few more brits there than others so plenty people to have a laugh with. I went Half time instruction gave us a chance to ski with the others in our group as well as people we met in other groups on our mornings/afternoons off. Very Happy

Went to the UCPA in Val d’Isere last year solo and it was great. Going again this year in early Feb. The centre was pretty tired compared to the Tignes one, but there were plans up on the wall for an upcoming refurbishment, but not sure if that was done this summer or still planned.
