Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

restaurant review: La Ruade, Les Menuires

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Evening all, we are off to Les Menuires in feb, it will be 2 families in self catering apartments in 2 separate locations, though we can access each others apartment blocks via the free bubbles that operate until late.

we are looking to meet up for an evening meal once or twice during the week.

I have found a restaurant right next to my apartment block, la ruade, that serves traditional style Savoyard food (including "hot rock" that I have not had in over 15 years, num-num!!!).

has anyone any experiences of this establishment, and if so would you recommend it?

look forward to any responses

cheers
terry

it's rubbish, don't go there! loads of better places (e.g. le savoy). mind you, the skiing in les menuires is pretty crap, too!

I know nothing of the restaurant, but to say the skiing in L M is crap is stretching it a little. The stuff up La Masse is superb and often very uncrowded. Most of the Savoyard restaurant places are fairly similar I've found. There's only so much you can do with some meat and a hot stone. So long as the atmosphere is good then you will be fine. Enjoy.

We had a very nice meal in La Maison de Savoy in Reberty 1850 on the preEOSB week. I wouldn't call the skiing crap either (even in April!).

@Bergmeister, perils of not proof reading, "yum-yum"!!!

@janny, cheers for heads up on La Ruade, shame if it is as bad as you say, as it is convenient for where we are staying.

Not sure where you are used to going to, but I wouldn't call the 3valleys skiing crap!!!

worked for nearly 3 seasons in Meribel many moons ago, so know the area well, apart from eating places in LM other than the ones on the mountains where we took guests whilst "companioning".
