Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

St Anton again!!!!

Hello Fellow Snowheads!!!! So we have spent a week the last two February's (2016 and 2017) skiing in St Anton and the family wants to go back in Feb 2018. I am ready to try somewhere else. I already have our tickets and we will be flying to Zurich so am open to either staying in Switzerland or heading over to Austria. My teenage kids are strong skiers and my wife and I are solid intermediates. Wife and I stay on pistes and kids like to go off piste. We live in the US in the Northeast and ski every weekend. We are use to skiing on ice!!!! We have also skied in Saalbach and Grindelwald. Any thoughts on where we should try? Thanks in advance!

As a compromise you might stay in Lech this time.
But many big names are within easy reach from Zürich: Ischgl, Laax/Flims, Zermatt...

Been to St Anton twice. Liked Ischgl as well.

It's bleak at times due to the skiing being high above the village, but there's plenty of off piste for the youngsters and one particular short sharp shock icy black on piste run which keeps oldsters on their toes. Lively apres ski, which might not suit all tastes.

If money isn't a concern then Zermatt also ticks the same boxes, but with more varied terrain, some amazing scenery and magnificently varied uplift. Some long, long cruising in Zermatt as well. Limited apres ski which might not suit all wallets.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Maybe try Arosa-Lenzerheide. There are plenty of good groomers for the parents, and there's a lot of easy-access off-piste terrain for the kids, especially over in Lenzerheide.

You can get there by train from Zurich with one change in Chur, and it's about as scenic as the ride to St. Anton.
