Thinking about an emergency second skiing holiday at Easter based at Wagrain (the emergency is everyone in our party is now absolutely hyped for another week and we have some friends who are already committed). What will the snow be like given that the Easter week is slated to be the last week of the season?

@Kooky, I completely get it for a bit of history. Especially if you are eating/staying at the Krummholzhutte. They should probably put some kind of disclaimer on the piste map though! The bloke at the “mid station” must have one of the least interesting jobs in Austria and could quite possibly get cabin fever!

@Spin Doctor, no idea what the snow will be like, but we’ve enjoyed a few Easters in the area and always had plenty to ski/lots of fun.

The snow up at Zauchensee is still absolutely amazing! The last week up there will be great, no people and perfect conditions!
Obertauern as usual, will close after the first May Bank Holiday.

How to you get across to the lift on the other side of Flachauwinkl? It looks a long old walk.

@Penry, if you mean between the sunshine shuttle lift and the highport lift there is a shuttle bus every 10 minutes or so. It takes about 1 minute

Last non Glacier day at Ski Amadé tomorrow.... Sport Gastein's last hurrah!!
Dachstein Glacier is still open and I had a blast there a couple of days ago!

@flangesax, I was up at Obertauern yesterday, still a few weeks to go.
The snow was great first thing but tbh it was done by 12 due to the excessively high temps. There is not a brown patch to see on the pistes, was pretty quiet too, with the whole resort open just one or two pistes closed.
Scarpa is back out next weekend, so @queenie pretty please, make sure you havent packed the skis away just yet!

@Kooky, I've been up there this week too! I took the board out with a mate!!.... First time I've been on one for 2 seasons.... What can I say???... I'm still AMAZING!!!
I was surprised they haven't scaled it back yet. Gamsleiten II (the highest lift to the peak) has been shut for a while but the rund is still open which makes it a worthwhile trip up there.
