Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

K2 Mindbender 89Ti - ski true to size?

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Hi there
I’m looking to update my current telemark set up from K2 sideshows in a 174 to K2 Mindbender 89Ti. I’ve noticed the turn radius is significantly shorter than my current set up….plus I think I’m probably 8-9kg (now 86kg) more than when I first got my sideshows Wondered whether I need to get 182 or stick closer to my current set up and get 176.
I’ll telemark ski anything from piste to some double black diamonds/off-piste etc.
I’m not looking to generate a long thread on alternatives to the Mindbender - I feel good that this fits the bill.
Thoughts on length?

According to online specs, the Sideshows has a turn radius of 20m while the Mindbender is 16.5m at 182cm. Those are significantly different numbers. So get whatever makes you feel comfortable I guess. I’m assuming you’ve already tried the Mindbender.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

@willjones46, both probably work fine. 182 for stability at speed, 176 for easier handling.
