Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Our ski group are going to the Dolomites next January, can any one recommend a village with some apr'a ski and maybe a hotel for up to 16 of us.
Some of us prefer off piste!

You could look at Madonna di Campiglio, although you might find the apres ski a little too civilised. (Scrap that. I'm not sure MdC is any good for off piste.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

I had two fantastic visits to San Martino di Castrozza in March 2016

Great walkable town, plenty of great restaurants and with The Ranch, one of the best bars in the mountains.

Some accommodation slopeside, but excellent bus network. Takes 5 mins.

Not apres like Austrian apres, but with 16 the party arrives when you do Wink

Some of the pics might be down - facebook change the code - but the vids are there

Canazei reputedly more lively apres scene than little old arabba (and more or less same skiing access).

Selva has the nightlife but Araba has the better access to the steeper stuff off the Marmolada. Arabba is pretty dead at night.

Note that there are rules about skiing off piste in Italy. They are not universally understood [ 9 different varieties of police ] or equally applied from region to region. I was skiing in a group well off the piste and had we triggered anything it could not have affected any marked run. We were stopped and interrogated at some length, we were skiing with the son of a local hotelier and he persuaded plod that he was a guide and responsible for us. We all had transceivers but nobody had full avi gear. Plod were on skidoos with blue lights and radar speed guns.
