Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Solo-Parents and Kids Trip Easter 2018

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Maybe it's just in my family, but my wife isn't keen on skiing with our youngest, but my son and I really want to ski again next season so it will just be the two of us snowHead I know a few of the family ski operators do solo parent deals but I think a group of solo parents could be better...

So, as the title suggests, I was wondering if there was any interest in a solo parent and child/children group for Easter '18 (31 March)?

I was thinking catered chalet close to a ski school with English-speaking group lessons for children. I'm open to ideas on where, but was thinking Tignes might work well.

I don't have a huge budget, but I prefer not to do ski trips on a shoestring either - certainly want somewhere comfortable and convenient!

Reply or PM me if you're interested or know someone who might be and we can go from there. And if there's already a group doing this please point me in their direction; I'm not looking to reinvent the wheel Smile

@headtothehill, Very similar circumstances, where my wife has little interest in Skiing. I'm booked for April 1st, going back to VDI with Esprit after a very successful Easter trip with my son, this year.

@headtothehill, How old is your son? Will you be needing any form of childcare or other kid specifics and such?

Very similar circumstances where I have little interest in going skiing with my wife. Booked at New Year for Saalbach for me and my son. Despite what I said earlier, I'm wondering if the issue isn't that we're solo parents but just that we're parents with a 5 week holiday window which adds to the expense and where the additional crowds detract from the experience. Having said all that, we can't do Easter next year as my son's got his GCSEs shortly afterwards, but 2019...

@headtothehill, sorry to hijack but I am considering doing the same in Dec for a pre-Christmas holiday. Though for slightly different reason, only my eldest is on school holidays, and hubby gets less holiday than me. Trying to decide if I have the courage to do so. You should have seen hubby's lip wobble when I suggested it Happy

@NickyJ, Excellent diplomacy skills required, "I get more holiday than you so I'm going to spend it skiing without you."

I'd have to lock the cutlery drawer before saying that out loud.

I didn't mention that part out loud as I mused the possibility.... Though He is always the one going on about the fact that he has less and not to book him up for too much etc. If I going to end up having to take that whole week off work, with is being such a cheap week it is really tempting.

@headtothehill, I could be interested and have in the past spoken to a few SnowHeads about a families bash. This year a number of us were on the EoSB, next year I suspect the EoSB won't coincide with school holidays.

As ever, age and experience of children is a factor, but can be handled within reason. I'm not keen on sharing a holiday with babies or toddlers, though!

I would be potentially interested, my youngest will be 10 next season but hasn't been on skis since she was 6 due to divorce and other things, she's a very social kid and loves ski school.

Whilst searching for solo ski hols, I came across Cold Fusion who do single parent ski weeks:

I have no idea what they're like but could be an alternative to consider.

@headtothehill, have a look at these:

That would tick all of the boxes.
