Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

A wax fleece is basically just a fabric cover which fits snugly over the base of the waxing iron. I don't know about other brands but the ones for the Kunzmann 5200/2200 irons and the Kunzmann 4200 iron are not Teflon.

Their purpose is to act as a heat sink between the iron and the ptex, which is useful when using a very hard cold temperature wax that has a melting point close to that of the ptex. Because they get impregnated with wax that has the slight added benefit of enabling a little less wax to be used.

They were a lot more common back in the day when iron thermostats were not so accurate. They're a pain to take on/off and a different fleece is required for each wax used so but a decent iron combined with the 'hot touching' application method for hard wax has made them redundant for the majority of users. The only exception might be a WC tech using a very specialist and expensive ultra high melting temperature wax.
