I think it's frequently the case that we hear about the bad things so here's something good.
Sail and Ski - phoned them: 'do you have the 157 scott black majics which are on your website?' 'Yes...' 'Can I have them with Salomon Wardens please' 'Yes' - exchanged details of boot sole etc. 'They will be with you tomorrow'. 'What? You are in Chester and I am in Cambridge'. Yes, but I'll get them done and couriered right now' 'Many thanks' And indeed they were there the next day.
Month later - 'Could I have some more Black Majics but in 167 please' 'Yes' - and then exactly the same high quality service.
Then more tricky 'I have some completely trashed ancient Bliss K2 snowboard bindings, any chance of a new set of ankle and toe straps?' - 'Not sure, I will contact K2, could be a problem - can you text a photo through?'. A few days later, an email 'They will be 32.50...'. Now, spare parts make the retailer almost nothing. They are a pain to source. The hassle is not really worth it for them. But here, just entirely straightforward, and a nice pair of bindings back in action.
Excellent. Well done Sail and Ski. And thanks David H.

Have used them a couple of times and always had excellent service. It's good to hear these stories.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Had some really good service off them a while ago where they sold me the boots I needed and not the boots I thought I needed, excellent company....

Just to join the general S& S love in...
Got some buoyancy aid stuff from them and they were great.

Always had excellent service at their Shrewsbury shop. Unfortunately I obviously didn't spend enough as it's now closed.

In the spirit of the OP's credit where it's due approach - I was also rather pleased with them.
No rush when trying on every pair of the snowboard boots in the shop to find which best fit me, then no problem at all when I came to swap them for another pair on finding a minor but annoying manufacturing fault.

+1 for S&S. Service has been brilliant. Happy to source special order items even when we were unsure of sizing with no obligation to keep them. Ski servicing is great and a far more pleasant experience than some of the usual suspects proclaiming to be specialist winter sports shops. worth travelling for.
