Help!!
Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better!
Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

..... anyone got any thoughts on the Jones Hovercraft?
Me: 6'0" 205lbs and quite fit. 40+, skied for 20+ years, boarded one week a year for 12 or so, surf
a lot
and am told I board well for 12 weeks.
Why: I'm going to Japan for three or four weeks next season and want something pow specific, short enough manoeuvrable for trees but with good float.
I've tracked down a 2017 season 160cm board for a really good price, anyone got any good reasons why I shouldn't?

No. Don't know anything about it either. Clicky click click, it's not like you're spending real money or anything. BUY IT NOW!
Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Had a demo on one. Great board. Want one
Surprisingly good on the groomers too, carves well and holds an edge.
You can ride it a lot shorter than a normal board.

I bought one this year for a 4 week tour around Japan and was very happy with it 😀 - it's very nimble through the trees! It didn't feel super technical to ride, so if you're at a decent level I'd go for it.
I went for the 156 but you're a bit heavier so the 160 should work well.
Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

I live on the west coast of Ireland, less than half of a mile from the sea so it's properly mild here. Got a call from the UPS man and as I was on the phone we had a tremendous hail/sleet storm and within the duration of the call the ground and houses around were blanketed in a crispy clean white coating. I'll take this as an auspicious sign.
The board is here now, and I have to say it's really nice looking. It's still in it's plastic all sealed up until next year. Airline tickets being booked soon........
