Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Ideas/recommendations for dec'17

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Hi. I am looking for advice for a hotel/resort for a long weekend in December. The group would consist of two adult and two 4 year old girls, it's there first ski holiday but all four are planning ski lesons in a fridge. Direct flights from Manchester/Birmingham area would be a bonus with short transfers to resort. Size of area very low priority but good nusers areas. A luxury hotel with a pool and good food is a must. Ski in out/next to the lift is also a must. The altapura in val thorens ticks a lot of boxes unfortunately I thinks it's a bit long transfers for 3-4 nights. Any other recommendations welcome.

Or you could look at Trysil Radisson, amazing facilities, ski in ski out flights to Oslo, all very affordable and snow sure

Agree with Tignes

Would you consider "luxury self catering"?

When our kids were that age we stayed http://www.cgh-residences.co.uk/winter/residences/la-ferme-du-val-claret-27

Lovely pool/spa and the apartments are nice. 10mins walk to slopes.

We sort of did semi self-catering, having breakfast in the apartment and then 4 or 5 meals out.

Also looking at Tignes for after Christmas, Sat 30 Dec to Sat 6 Jan. Seems that most of the chalet/apartment companies (including the link above), are not displaying availability or prices for 2017/18 season yet? Or anything wrong with the dates I am looking at?

Many places won't have their prices up yet for next year.

Is Val Thorens a much longer transfer?

When does Cervinia open?

What dates?

This is easy.

Sport Hotel in Neustift, ski on Stubai Glacier (if there's a blizzard and you can't see on the glacier, ski at Schlick2000 instead).

Edit: Ah, sorry not ski in ski out. But the hotel will give you a private shuttle to/from the lifts in their minibus, so technically you do only have about steps to make between hotel door and ski lift wink

@WASHOUT, I would have thought as @under a new name has questioned VT is no longer than tignes, if anything slightly shorter, transfer time. As you need to go through moutiers to get to both you will be close to VT by the time you get to Bourg on the valley road.

nice dilemma to have though Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy
