Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Technica Boot Sizes

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Could someone help with Technica boot sizes please? Looking at the Mach1 110MV. EB said they only do whole steps in sizes (e.g. 25, 26, 27). Then a few sites I've looked at seem to only offer them in 25.5, 26.5 and 27.5 for example. Am I right in thinking that 26 == 26.5?

Any help would be great. My foot measures as a 26.5 (26.3 to be exact).

Thanks

25 and 25.5 are the same thing, 26 and 26.5 are the same thing etc etc IN 99.9% OF ALL MODELS....there are a couple of exceptions but generally in touring models where the size might split 25.5 and 26.0 being the same

THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A 1/2 SIZE IN SKI BOOTS the shell is the same, the liner is the same and the insole is generally the same or has a 1mm shim under it BUT as you are most Likely to pull that insole out and replace it with a custom made one (you are going to do that right?)

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

OK great thanks. Guess the lady at EB wasn't too clued up when she suggested 26 would be too small but 26.5 would be fine...

And yes, a custom insole will be done.

So why do manufacturers sell a 25 and 25.5 in the same model, please?

A triumph of marketing over reality.

because the big box stores in Europe and the USA demand it, so they can mislead their customers into thinking there is a difference

Atomic took a move 2 years ago, now the boot comes labeled (not just the stamp on the shell which you would have thought was enough) 26.0/26.5 on both the boot label and the box, they include a 1.5mm thick shim in the box "so you can turn you 26.5 into a 26.0"
