Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Place to ski on way to La Grave from Turin/Grenoble

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
I'm booking flights this evening for a week in La Grave next week (18-26 Feb). It's about the same cost to fly to and rent a car from Turin or Grenoble and I'll probably get a very early flight on the Saturday.

Does anyone have any suggestions for a good place to stop on the way up to La Grave for a pootle around? Ideally somewhere slightly out of the ordinary and less usually skiied - I really enjoyed Les Contamines earlier this year and something similarly quiet would be great.

Also, if anyone has any strong reason why I should favour Turin over Grenoble (or vice versa) do let me know.

Thanks! Very Happy

From Grenoble try Alpe de Grand Serre. Lovely resort not too far off the main road to La Grave.

Turin is quicker.

There's lifts next to the road at Montgenevre and the whole Serre Che valley. take yer pick

From Turin you go through Cesana, easy access from there into the Via Lattea (Sestriere/Sauze d'Oulx etc), easy parking too. And of course there's Serre Che Very Happy

Prali looks fun although might opt Claviere/Cesana as slightly bigger. Thought about giving Serre Che a whirl but since might may end up skiing there anyway depending on what condition La Grave is in, I reckon it's best saved for another day...

Thanks for the tips all!
