Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Driving fom Grenoble to Courchevel Moriond

Anyone done it? Flights were reasonable to Grenoble so I bagged them instead of flying to Geneva. Car hire is sorted but I'm going to have to ring ahead to check for snowchains, fuel additives etc. There's no way of booking extras online.
Has anyone driven Grenoble to Moriond? We're in no rush to get there as I cannot have keys to the apartment until 4pm (land at 10am).

ask if the car has snow tyres if so you might not need chains..I have never used them and it mght be cheaper to buy them than rent if you decide you want them ... ,,check the price.. in the mountains the fuel (diesel ) should have the additive but you need to ask at the petrol stations..I didnt have a problem in La Tania in Jan but the fuel gelled in the Dolomites

Not a bad drive usually, obviously traffic much heavier than average next two weekends. Weather forecast clear and not too cold next weekend. Snow tyres very beneficial, if price reasonable.
Snow chains may be obligatory if fresh snow coincides with your return journey. They're likely to be offered for hire, but price can seem high.
Downside of waiting to see if snow chains needed is that you may face a drive down a mountain road to a Moutiers supermarket to buy some.
Hope it all goes well.
Very Happy

Done it loads and it's comparable to The Geneva and Lyon runs to Courchevel. As @DaveD, says straight through to Moutiers and turn right. It can get busy around the à Grenoble ringroad with the endless roadworks there but I guess the same can be said of anywhere.
