A friend of mine with a very nice apartment has invited me for beers this evening and to ski tomorrow.
In his bootroom, there are lockers with heater/driers, which are great for putting on toasty boots in the morning, but I was advised by someone not to use them as they'd have a detrimental effect on my Intuition inners, which I had baked and fitted at the shop.
Is there any truth in this? The heaters are very warm.

depends how warm... But really nearly every boot has thermomouldable liners these days so the driers SHOULD be limited to a sensible heat. We have an electric radiator style drier in our flat and i use that with my inutitions without problems

Not wandering off topic too much, my Salomon boots have a heat moldable shell and liner, at the hotel I stayed at last week in Italy the boot rack was a series of heated pipes that the boots stood on. I don't know the temperate of the rack was but there was no way you could hold on to it. Needless to say I didn't use it just in case it effed up my new boots.

I have a Quadalp drier. The blown air is only warm and hasn't damaged our liners at all.
The whole machine is only rated at 75 watts, with the fan and heater turned on.

Thanks for your answers. Yeah it's very warm, but I reckon the Russians here don't notice. They just like warm feet. I left my boots in the hallway.

Have anybody experience with Ski Boot Heaters (not in Ski room)? I am thinking to buy one but I am little bit afraid that I will feel it during skiing

Battery powered and no heating function...?
They will dry the inside fabric surface of your liners but aren’t going to be very effective for sweat or water that has soaked into the foam.
Then again, how wet do your boots get?

They aren't powered at all, they absorb moisture presumably using that silica type gel/beads you find in packaging. You then re-activate them by removing the inner and putting them in the oven to release the absorb moisture. they are good for 12 days or so between refresh so a weeks skiing should be fine.
I'm very tempted to try them.

I'm sure those would work. Boots ought to be waterproof, so you're not shifting more than a bit of dampness.
You won't get warm boots to stick your feet in in the mornings of course.
My American skier mates appear to have switched from in-boot electric fans to the heated boot-bags. I suppose it's one less thing to worry about, assuming you're going to use a bag.
I've never heard anyone worry about the effects of this (moderate) heat on heat-moulded stuff. How hot do you have to get the liners to mould them, and how hot to boot driers run?

When you put electrically heated insoles in ski boot and connect it to the batteries, which are added to the boot from outside

@fff01, ahhh, the better half has Reynaud’s and uses those. SIDAS, brand. Very effective, no downsides.
