4 days of glorious sunshine, great views but no pow in Gudauri. The mountain faces due south and was suffering consequently. Moving on to Mestia/Tetnuldi now where fresh is forecast. Does anyone know how to order vegetables in Georgia? This place is a total meatfest.

Sh*tty phone pic taken this afternoon at Hatsvali, entering the trees from the traverse to rider's right of the top of the chair. More to follow when back in Blighty.

Tetnuldi yesterday was great. 20cm fresh overnight and continued snowing all morning. Deserted! Lifties very kindly decided to turn on the bottom 2 chairs when we arrived at 10.30am. Unfortunately the top lift remained closed, but we had great fun in the super light powder lower down. Probably no more than 50 people on the hill all day - we were still scoring fresh tracks on the pistes at 4pm. Flat light made avoiding the humps and bumps in the off-piste terrain a tad tricky, but no complaints. The sun poked its head out at the end of the day to reveal the jaw droppingly stupendous scenery of the surrounding majestic 5000m Caucasus peaks. Looks like it has got its hat on again this morning so camera at the ready. Hope that top lift is open. All good

Top lift stayed closed for our last day
Now en route back to Blighty. Flight from Mestia was cancelled due to low cloud and snow so had to divert via 4 hour taxi to Zugdidi, the second half in a raging blizzard, then night train to Tbilisi. Definitely the long way round! But a great experience.
Fab trip, even though extent of snowboarding was limited by top lift closures in both Gudauri and Tetnuldi, the former due to lack of snow, the latter (I think) due to avalanche danger on the massive north-west face.
TRs to follow if/when I find the time and get hold of my mate's pics from his better camera.

@hd,
Sounds great. Still excited about Georgia after @Mike Pow's report. Really looking forward to the rest of your pics. Would you mind also writing a little itinerary / flight/transfer times etc?
Many thanks
