you need to go south as well. You can see The Lakes, Snowdonia, and Blackpool tower on a good day. You'd struggle to ski there now as they've put a golf course on it.

I'll give it to @thecramps, It's actually Ashurst Beacon, but very close to Parbold Hill. It's where the golf course now is. We lived just down the road back then.

@mooney058 has it, Misurina. The building you see is the Hospital I ended up in aged about 7 with pneumonia. Picture taken from very near the hotel we were in. School trip that my Dad organised mid 70's.
Very near Cortina, with a total of one drag lift and one chair. I became ill before getting a chance to use the chair:-(
