Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Keeping Toddler Warm?

 Poster: A snowHead

Any suggestions on how to keep a little one warm. Obviously thermal layers are key, and we've got that one down. And we've been looking at footmuffs for when he's in a pram... thought it best to take one just in case... not sure if this is exactly the right one to take for the snow though: http://www.prams.net/kaiser-dowwny-footmuff ...Has anyone got any suggestions for better ones out there, maybe ones specifically for real cold weather... or am I on the right tracks? Thanks in advance!

Keep them dry. Try to make sure snow and ice can't get into gloves, hats and collars etc. Once wet its impossible to keep extremities warm without drying.

Not suggesting you leave you toddler outside but this is interesting article about babies who are left to sleep outside http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-21537988

Snowsuit, like this http://www.polarnopyret.co.uk/green-winter-padded-waterproof-kids-overall-60306675-693-5. Doesn't have to be PoP, but some thermal lining and water resistance. Our son used to wear one of these and waterproof shell trousers over the top.

Wool based base layers.

Good footwear e.g., http://www.sorelfootwear.co.uk/kids

Balaclava etc. Mittens with spare pair etc. Waterproof outer mittens.

Some kind of "nest" thing when in the pushchair e.g., https://www.polarnopyret.se/vadderad-akpase-60306899-475-1

We used a down all-in-one from Columbia.

By using something they wear, there's no opportunity to get cold when transferring from car to buggy, or house to car.
