Poster: A snowHead

Hi Snowheads, we are staying Tignes Les Brevieres over Xmas this year and one of the things I do enjoy about Brevs is being able to ski the home run at the end of the day. Kind of completes the day rather than having to bubble down.
Given the weather forecast, no snow but very cold, does anyone with any knowledge or experience of these things think that they will make the effort to blow enough snow to make the home runs skiable? I'm hoping that everything on top is so good after the storms that efforts on producing snow can be focussed further down the mountain.

We were there in mid January a few years back, never a problem with the runs being closed, but they were generally quite icy with the odd rock or dirt poking through, particularly towards the bottom, we preferred the red to the blue as the blue is too flat & also tends to get very full of people on the last run of the day. I would think given the great start to the season there's every chance you'll have reasonable conditions, but of course being lower there is always the chance that rain can ruin everything!
One other tip, if you happen to miss the "Hot Donkey" lift back (Chaudannes) from Tignes, you can get the ski bus which doesn't come all the way to Brevs, but stops at the bottom of the chair above & to the left of resort (when facing uphill), I forget the name, obviously by then the pistes are officially closed, but you can ski back down the blue to the bottom station of Brevs where all the restaurants are etc - very atmospheric skiing in the dark!

I suggest you do not do what I was persuaded to do against my better judgement some years ago and try and ski down the pistes when closed. When we did it the piste we took looked fine at the start, but after halfway there were rocks and places where we had to take our skis off and walk a while. It took a long time to get down.
In retrospect it was a dumb thing to do, but it taught me a lesson.

@richjp I'd like to clarify I wasn't suggesting skiing on a closed piste as a general recommendation, merely as a way of getting back home without a mega walk or taxi ride in this particular situation. The piste I'm talking about is a gentle blue & only closed due to being after hours & therefore obviously not patrolled.
Normally I wouldn't go on a closed piste under pretty much any circumstance, if it's closed due to avalanche danger then it might be last thing you ever do!

I have great memories of staying in La Breviere and skiing home at the end of the day on the Sache and having a drink and a crepe in the great bar restaurant at the left side of the piste as you hit la Breviere. They played golden oldies rock and roll.
Glory days.

So I'm back from skiing in tignes yesterday and have good news. The run down to Les brevieres was built from grass to a snow cannoned skiiable white strip over the last few days and was open yesterday.
Everything from sache upwards was good. Could really do with snow especially from mid down but double m, toviere, glacier , Val d down to village all very good.
Le moose was fun as always
