Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Sierra Nevada skiing - end of November?

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
I'm thinking of a fairly last minute ski trip for a few days. I've never been to the Sierra nevada ski resort before and am worried about committing.

The lifts open this coming weekend and we'd travel there for the Monday afterwards.

Has anyone managed any skiing here at the end of November before? Puzzled

Webcams showing natural snow down to the village and cannons on full blast, I'd go for it! I've been early December and had a great time.

Yes Ive skied there in November three times over last 10 years. We always go to Nerja last weekend of November and if the snow looks OK, we have a day at Sierra Nevada. The skiing is generally OK but a little limited if just the core of the area (Borreguiles) is open, but benefits massively when the Les Lagunas lift and area is opened up - with long quiet reds from the top of the mountain. Piste preparation is generally very good, and there are a few fast detachable chairlifts. Wonderful view from the top over the med!

Webcams looking great and more precipitation forecast over next few days. View from Costa Tropical this am amazing. Laguna sector does not have snowmaking and webcams can be deceptive as one can get a lot of wind scouring. imho the best area as so quiet and nice range of runs and view from top ridge but can be very windexposed at the top.

There will be some melt in the next week or so.

But there should be enough open at end-Nov for 1-2 days of sliding.

Its probably worth me just mentioning the British Ski Centre in Pradollano, the main ski village at Sierra Nevada. They have operated there for many years. Good website and we have always found them very friendly and helpful for help and advice as well as English speaking hire and lessons. See https://www.britishskicenter.co.uk/
