...it seems that Snowheads have come out of Summer hibernation and are now becoming active....
After languid sleeping on beaches, torpid days curled up on deckchairs after a brief few hours foraging (mowing the lawn) and generally operating at half-speed, everyone is gearing up for the winter season, slowly coming back to Snowheads like marmots emerging from their holes in Spring.
The book has opened on what will most annoy the largest number of Snowheads and just generally set them off

@andy, excellent ... I should have thought of the etymology of hibernation
Hiber - wintry
Aestas - summer
Aestivation or æstivation (from Latin: aestas, summer, but also spelled estivation in American English) is a state of animal dormancy, similar to hibernation, characterized by inactivity and a lowered metabolic rate, that is entered in response to high temperatures and arid conditions.[1] It takes place during times of heat and dryness, the hot dry season, which are often the summer months.

Do other people hibernate for reasons involving deck chairs, cocktails with little umbrellas in, and pedalos?
Personally, the only reason I did not post all summer (albeit my first Snowheads summer) was because every year I basically spend summer in denial and try to forget that skiing even exists. I know it is far, far away and don't want to even think about it. Now we're at that stage where there's less time til I next ski than since I last skied, and that makes it OK to start thinking about it again!
