Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Decent shell to pair with Arc'teryx AR Hoody?

I have both an LT and AR hoody and looking for a shell that will fit nicely over both. No doubt the Arc'teryx shells fit wonderfully over them but looking for some cheaper options if possible, Goretex not essential.

TIA

@duncansarmy, if you can handle the colours Decathlon (Quechua) have some good looking and good value kit, used these days by some of the Cham high mountain guides (and they won't use crap) also, they own Simond which looks great but is a terrible cut for me. Crying or Very sad

Also, Patagonia.

And some of the UK Mountaineering brands.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Thanks @under a new name, hadn't really thought about decathlon. Just been reading reviews on the forclaz 400 shell and looks impressive for the price. Sounds like they will replace if any problems too. May just make the drive and try one on. Cheers

@duncansarmy, I know you said Goretex is not essential but you should be able to find a Scott Explorair PRO GTX 3L shell jacket at this time of the year at under £200 which is excellent value for a great jacket that has a £365 list price.
