Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Some of my friends voted to leave the EU. They did so for a variety of reasons. Some because they thought it would mean more money for the NHS, some because they wanted to fire a shot across the establishment's bows, other because they were worried about immigration. There were undoubtedly some who voted Brexit who could be described as bigots or Xenophobe but this does not describe the majority.

I think that the current low value of the pound must have an affect on holiday prices unless it recovers. It is certainly helping our exports at present but it will increase the cost of imports. Pluses and minuses in many fields

Indeed, and if you looked at the FTSE 100 and 250 on thursday last week, it had recovered to well above its rate prior to brevet and indeed the FTSE250 was only a day off its all time high - it has of course now plumeted predominantly because of the ECBs latest decision, and one that despite our brexit plans currently effects us (and will likely effect us even when we are separate!)

Rather than Brexiters being small-minded, Remainers were the small-minded, racist federalists, happy to discriminate against those from outside the EU, happy to screw over African farmers and overjoyed to bend over for big business and Goldman Sachs influenced career politicians who could not have got more wrong if they tried. And despite the politicians completely wrong predictions, they're all still earning very nicely thank you. Brexiters want to embrace the world, treat everyone equally, re-connect with our lost commonwealth cousins from India, Africa, Canada and Australia and build a global brand free from the shackles of bureaucracy and red tape that will eventually strangle the lumbering, fixed ideological, flawed, socialist, inept wet dream that the EU has sadly morphed into from it's humble beginnings. It's only a matter of time before the EU is consigned to the dustbin of history, and not the recycling bin either.

Wow speak freely why don't you - don't worry about offending people.

I for one voted leave - I'm not small minded, a xenophobe or a bigot. I didn't vote leave because I'm racist, nor to shut our borders.

Plenty here know me and would prefer to describe me as a sexist, perverted w@nker. Thats fine, but what they don't do is make sweeping comments that tar all people with the same brush. I don't take offence by your sweeping comment, nor do I see it as someone who doesn't like 'to lose', but some might. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion (and their own vote) after all - that does not give you the right to insult others because their opinion is not the same as yours

Plenty of reasons why I voted leave, but my business is improving because of it, my holidays are no more expensive, and should visas / work permits be brought in then thats fine.

You might want to calm down, we've got a long ride ahead as we exit, and your blood pressure might not take it if you carry on Razz

How exactly is your business improving from brexit I'm genuinely intrigued?

2 ways - My company Project Manages security and defence installation schemes in the UK (can't and won't go into details there) and we provide to areas in and out of europe - the exchange rate is working wonders for me AND the investment in the UK has increased. Whats not to like.

Have a lot to do with construction too and despite the tabloids showing a slowdown, its quite the opposite in many areas.

Not today, rate change will weaken sterling.

Maybe September , Italy is shut till then.

Ok, its nearly the end of September, its 1.1624 on the screen this morning. How's the euro/gbp short looking then? I guess we should double down and sell more here?

Was seeing it on my screen, intrabank rates so not necessarily available retail. Was really just poking fun at the fella who was convinced the euro would implode v GBP by August..

We have booked our group holiday and it was more expensive as the Crystal offers were not as good. I think this is due to exchange rate but I also wonder if capacity has been cut? Capacity would have nothing to do with Brexit as they would have decided on capacity ages ago

As the Eurozone slides into recession, Italy falls apart and Germany explodes with race issues, there is a good chance it will be a very cheap year for skiing.

I think it may be quite sad for the chaps in Sunderland though, who perhaps don't have 10% to throw away like that.

@philwig, a direct response to their own brexit vote.

British Pound in freefall again this week.

By the Ski Season I am expecting it to be heading towards Parity €1 =£1.00 or below £1.08.

Any reference to Art50 being trig in new year will expedite the freefall

@stanton, Granted its gone down over the last couple of months, but ''British Pound in freefall again this week'' really??

GPB to Euro started week and 1.545, currently running at 1.609 - now unless your an aussie and your looking at things upside down, I count that as going up not down......

Are you missing a digit in those i.e. 1.1545 and 1.1609?

I can't see anything at 1.5 in the past year, nevermind 1.6.

My 'tourist' rate is currently showing as 1.1571. But then I have a free revolut card and app, so pay the currency market rate Wink

@stanton, Luckily I can cover the difference 10 fold by taking profits on my FTSE tracker which is up a whole bunch since brexit, every silver lining has a cloud.

The currency markets do not like uncertainty, once the deals start coming we will return to 1.35 and higher.
