Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Hi,

Does anyone know whether there's anywhere in Val d'Isere where I can rent an airbag for 5 days?

Any idea what I can expect to pay?

Thanks,

Pete

Hi coolbeanz - renting an airbag in itself may be tricky.... you can def rent tran, shovel etc at the Mountain Pro Shop opposite the main bus station but renting an airbag is a tricky thing as it is not deemed 'vital' therefore shops dont want to spend loads on stocking them for a lowish return on their investment. Other options - think the SCGB you can now hire them by the week and take them on hols and back again!!!!! I know some ski schools (Progression) include them when you take lessons with them! I am also lead to believe on good advice that a new shop called 'Pure Ski' which is in the pedestrianised area to the RIGHT AS YOU LOOK of the main tourist office and into where Dr Dalabells surgery is - they are now renting the bags out but only heard it on good advice! Good luck.

Thanks for all your suggestions.

I ended up renting a Mammut/Snowpulse one from Skimium on Avenue Olympique. It cost €20/day.

Gladly, I didn't need to deploy it!

Hi, it seems that for ABS airbags rental in Val-d'Isère, powderwego.org has switched to https://www.powderwego.com .
The airbags are in good condition, revised each season, and checked each time they are rented.

They offer this service, for 25 to 30€ per day I think.

Best,
