Poster: A snowHead

Hi all,
My brother has yet to book ski school placements for his kids and ESF are now fully booked. We're heading out to Saint Gervais Friday week (half term week) and although he may have sorted his 8 year old, he's been told by ESF that they are now fully booked for his 4 year old. Can anyone make any recommendations for an alternative company or possibly another area locally that is in easy reach?
Many thanks

Have you tried ESF in Le Bettex which is just above St Gervais? I presume so but just a thought. It is a very small resort but links in well in St Gervais and Megeve. It can be reached from St Gervais by cable car. Les Contamines up the valley will involve car journeys probably but also is an option if you get really stuck. I cannot help with instructors but any piece of advice is better than none. Good luck.

A long shot, but may be worth contacting BASS in Megeve.

I believe they are one and the same?
I did wonder about ESF Megeve although this will obviously be a car journey as we can't get her up and over the mountain.
Will also contact BASS even if they can point me in the right direction.
Cheers all, any other suggestions welcome!

You'll need to Register first of course.

@dredgey, I know it is the same situation as Megeve, as in having to drive, but you could also try esf in Combloux. our kids are booked in for that week, and the lessons were longer (09:30-12:30) and cheaper than megeve

Is Les Contamines too far? May not be as crowded either?

One lift and one run for a Megève based instructor to meet you at Le Bettex. ESI could be an option as well as ESF and BASS.

They may do that but they do tend to stick to the Megeve side for teaching.

Actually, the children can be taken from St Gervais to Megève (and back) by bubble lifts. No chairs, drags or skiing required. Bit of a schlep, but if needs must...

And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.

I was only there for one week but IIRC is there not quite a walk / ski between the two stations at the top with a saddle drop in the middle?

@olderscot, yep. Easy ski (or walk) to the saddle and a bit of a walk up. But I must admit I'd forgotten it!

You know it makes sense.

Of course! It never dawned on me that lifts take you down a mountain as well as up!!⛷
