Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Valmorel-ideal family resort.

Just back from a week at Valmorel,in the Savoie region of the French Alps.
For anyone interested, this is how it went.
Valmorel is a small, purpose built resort to the rear of the 3 valley area.It sells itself as family orientated, and it is.It has an excellent ESF ski school that specialises in kids/beginners.Its great to see lines of kids snakeing their way down the piste, with the ESF guy shouting "allay, allay".
Excellent lift system and very good "button" tows(I generally hate the things-but these are OK).All pistes are linked so that it is easy to get to either your chalet or ski school.Genuine ski to the door.Got a bit thin this past week;had to walk the last 20ft Shocked Majority of pistes are blue, with some nice reds near the top.Limited blacks, but what is there is nice. Not an area for the "extream" freaks, but great for families and "blue" cruisers.
ESF all speak good english.Wife had 3 private lessons;I had 1,all excellent.
18yr old daughter(beginner-1st time apart from 4 trips to Tamworth)had 1 private lesson and ended the week doing 2 reds!!Thats what you call rapid progress.Good choice of food and good restaurants. All in all an excellent weeks skiing and well recommended. We went with Airtours. Also featured in Nielsons.Sure we shall go again Smile Smile

Recently I started to film the wife skiing by following her at the back with a digital camera (fantastic invention for taking movies with a 1 Gb capact flash card). The runs at Valmorel were long and gentle. I would have ate a lot of snow had I did it elsewhere.

We managed to go over to the St. Francis the very end which was terribly short of snow. The resort is rightly described you you a great place for the kids. I wasn't too keen on the button tows & T-bars which were unavoidable links at the middle. My description of Valmorel is that it has has more green slopes than anywhere in France.
