Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Reductions on bulk booking with TO

We're hoping to book somewhere for 12 people in mid Jan, probably with a TO. Is that likely to be enough people to be able to negotiate a discount, if so any idea how much? Does anyone have any experience of this?Cheers.

Alpine Elements offer between £50 to £100 discount per person on bookings of more than 6 people.

You'd definitely be able to negotiate a discount with virtually all TO's i'd imagine.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

We've been on a few groups trips with Ski Miquel - pretty sure they do 1 free place for every 6 or 7 people (sounds about the same as mentioned above). Also various discounts for room sharing and kids etc. Limited number of resorts but have had good holidays with them in Bad Gastein and Saalbach.

Since mid-Jan is off-peak I'd imagine most TOs will offer similar sorts of incentives for a decent sized booking.

@sequoiaboard, there should be group discounts for over 7 (bit of flex between operators, dates, sometimes properties). PM me if you'd like specific example costings

Phone people up and do good old fashioned bartering. Don't be afraid to play one off against each other either. If there's 12 of you then you're probably going to have a few thousand reasons for them to want your business.

Sorry but we don't offer discounts to groups of 12 (sorry). As we have cut the price down as much as possible already, as many TO's have, there isn't the margin to offer small group discounts.

I think Mark Warner, Equity and Crystal offer small group discount You could give them a call and ask.

@sequoiaboard, for groups of that size you are probably best talking to an agent instead of a TO. Someone like Iglu have contacts with most of the usual TOs and will know which ones will give you group discounts on that number.

From my experience, the market has shifted a bit over recent years, not long ago a group of 10 was enough to get some really good deals, now it seems they offer more upfront discount for 1s and 2s, and you need 15+ to get any serious movement on price.
