What are the chances of less crowds at this time , we have been going to Zell for New Year for the last ten years ..it has been so busy other years we have now booked January 2nd ,should it be a little quieter ?

@alicia, If the Russians don't turn up then that will be a very quiet week but tbh I can't see it as there's a lot of Russian money in ZamS now. The town has gone all out to attract Arabs in summer and Russians in winter.
Will be interesting to see the Russian numbers overall though in the next season? Last January in Obergurgl I never heard a Russian voice all week. In Zell in March there were plenty but maybe less than previous years.

Last year there were certainly less Russians in Zellamsee in the New Year than the year before .. but my son went in July and was amazed at the amount of Arabs there..certainly accommodation is plentiful and prices favourable for January 2nd so hopefully it may be less busy

@alicia, we went first week in Jan couple of years ago and it was good, quite quiet but not dead. Similarly we did the same to Soelden last year, quite busy but not rammed. Apparently the week after was dead so we've booked 2nd week this time to see if it's any better (Val T this time though).
