Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Saalbach - the new Bernkogel chairlift

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
On Saturday I had a look to see how the construction of the new 6-seater chairlift on the Bernkogel above Saalbach is progressing, the Bernkogel 6er which will replace
the long double T-bars which were there up till now. First here is an overview of the top station (with the top station of the Wetterkreuz chairlift beside it).

And some closer up photos.

Storage for the seats is underground. I thought the landscaping was very successful; you could never tell there was a garage underneath.

I didn't have enough puff to walk down to the bottom station, so the only photo I have is a distant view, taken from the top of the Reiterkogel. Just what the crane is doing there I am not sure.
I can't make out whether it is working on the Bärnalm hut or the top station of the gondola. Rather hidden by the trees you can also just see bits of the new, large Luis Alm hut, which will open this year.

I expect that the new link to Fieberbrunn will make this a busy corner in the next season.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

I'm pretty sure the crane was there when we skied past at Easter. Think it was there for the hut.
