Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Montgenevre

Recently discovered that our Feb half term is different to UK half term next year which is a result so picked up some cheap flights to Turin and heading to Montgenevre. We picked it because it looks particularly good for early intermediates and beginners. Is there any decent steeps/off piste/tree skiing for me when everyone else is in ski school? Toofy Grin

Lots of good stuff from Rocher de l'Aigle, the highest lift. Either the couloirs then trees following the line of the chairlift back to the bottom of the lift. Or into the valley lookers left to join the chairlift below L'Aigle. Or over the other side down into Claviere in Italy. I spent a couple of seasons working there many years ago, there was always plenty of great tree skiing and steeper lines that don't get tracked out too quickly.

Just got back from a very nice week in Montgenevre. Unfortunately we didn't have any big powder days but I was very impressed with the terrain. I had one morning with a Freeride Group with ESI Apeak to ski one of the classic lines La Plane which involves a nice hike dropping into a powder field followed by some great tree skiing. Was really impressed with Apeak - easily the most professional and well organised ski school I have ever come across in France.

Great for families, hardly any queues, quick transfer from Turin, great restaurants in Italy - I'll be back snowHead
