Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Anyone been there or have any opinions on it? What sort of skier / holiday maker would it suit?

Friend of mine thinking of going Feb half term and asked my opinion.

beanie1, Many years ago. Great for beginners and novices. I had really good tuition, and good rental gear. Small ski area with wooded slopes. Food was err... interesting. I was lucky with my grub, but others in different hotels, suffered with menu/portion problems. It was sooo cheap compared with, say a comparable resort in Austria.

Best suited to begineers or intermediates that want a gentle holiday.

Some nice wide runs.

Good selction of bars and restaurants on the hill.

Food away from the hotels is really good.

Food in the hotels is edible (plenty of choice) as long as you don't mind it being served luck warm. (This is the Bulgarian way).

Try to get a flight to Plovdiv not Sofia as the transfer time is only 90minutes. (Plovdiv is a military airport they use in the winter to get tourists to the ski resorts quicker).

Good atmosphere in the resort.

Reasonably well organised on the first day for equipment hire.

Lift queues only really an issue first thing in the morning at the start of ski school

has anyone stayed in the hotel Prespa in Pamporovo? Whats it like? Is it 600 metres from the ski lifts as the brochure suggests?
