Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Ski bag (that take boots too?)?

Hi there,

Been looking for a well padded ski bag for next season as I'm done renting now and came across these:

1) Dakine Double Fall Line:

https://www.surfdome.com/Dakine_Ski_Bags_-_Dakine_Fall_Line_Double_Ski_Bag_-_Sportsman-198196?_$ja=tsid:39151%7Cprd:631973%7Ccat:Boardbags&utm_source=GoogleShopping&utm_medium=CSE&utm_campaign=CSE&utm_keyword&adtype=pla&istCompanyId=6eb6b8f6-7dcb-4576-851b-e1dff2ebaf99&istItemId=imxqaatmq&istBid=tzwx&_$$ja=cgid:18095346552%7Ctsid:13319%7Ccid:217990392%7Clid:244849297392%7Cnw:g%7Ccrid:57640547592%7Crnd:13893582959544575140%7Cdvc:c%7Cadp:1o4%7Cbku:1&gclid=CjwKEAjws5CrBRD8ze702_2dyjYSJAAAJK9yWsyQ8ikOp1HOun8UnAk8MPA5EDkweuCgoBjD92Oi7BoCNEvw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds

2) Dakine Padded Double:
http://www.ellis-brigham.com/products/dakine-padded-double-190cm-ski-bag/705412

3) Haglofs ski bag:

http://www.freetime1.co.uk/en/Haglofs-SkiBag/m-3614.aspx

They're all the same price, more or less though I need to find the appropriate size for a couple of them. My skis are 184cm long and have some 28.5 boots and poles that need to all fit in. Maine concern is padding and weight. I'd like the skis and boots to be most secured but at 5kg per bag, after you fit all in, it might reach the limit ?
Has anyone used any of these bags or have other suggestions, please?

Thanks.

Very happy with the Fall Line Double. You can fit in way more stuff than most airline baggage restrictions. I dragged mine around Japan for 3 and a bit weeks last season as my sole piece of luggage (other than avi pack) with two pairs of skis, boots, poles, ski clothes, normal clothes, etc. Would buy again.

Fall line double with 3 pairs of big skis, bindings a snowboard, poles and a shovel probe is about dead on 32 kg.

So subtract 2 pairs of skis n poles and a board and add boots and you should be under 23kg*

* but doesn't everyone who cares pack boots in hand luggage anyway.

Thanks guys,

Called Some shops and neither the haglofs nor Ellis bringham bags are designed to fit ski boots so I'd rather not have them moving about inside.
This leaves the Dakine Double Fall line based on your recommendations. Much appreciated for the help again.

I went with a 'Low Roller' ( wheeled version of the fallline ) - didn't fancy carrying a bag with skis and boots.

weighs 3kg -- details here == http://eu.dakine.com/p/backpacks-and-gear/gear-bags/snowboard/low-roller

I can get a pier of Rossi Zenith 10's, Whitedot preachers and Dalbello Krypton boots in my Ellis Brigham Team edition roller.

Picked up the Double Fall Line a few months ago - ugly ass pattern version but only £55!!! form Sport Pursuit - very happy with it! Met some guys while in France who were both using it and very happy!
The guys in EB strongly recommended their branded version as well since its huge - good price as well

I've just received my Double Fall Line. I ordered it from The Sports Outlet at a very good price: £54. However, I'm a bit disappointed that there is no compression/tie-down straps inside to keep the skis in place. My cheap-as-chips Trespass/Nevisport bag has these. It looks like I'd have to stuff it full to ensure things stayed put.

 So if you're just off somewhere snowy come back and post a snow report of your own and we'll all love you very much

Mine should arrive today, but this doesn't sound promising. Surely there must be a way to keep the skis in place without stuffing the bag to the rafters?

The Double Fall Line also has wheels. The Low Roller is effectively the snowboard equivalent of the Fall Line. As my skis are 177cm I need the 190 Fall Line.

I think wrapping the straps of my back protector around the skis is slightly more practical and less messy. Very Happy Very Happy

No you won't I had a low roller and it took my 184s fine. Dakine size up their bags ridiculously, currently have the concourse double 185 which takes my 190 scotts with plenty of space

@Dave of the Marmottes,

The low roller was on their website when I looked last week!! :: just had a look again - and it has gone + the fall line (suspect they may be revising the website - no ski/snowboard bags to be seen..|)
