Poster: A snowHead

Rocketski have some excellent prices for Christmas week at the moment - just £299 for either Risoul or Le Corbier
http://www.rocketski.com/component/hotels/available
I've stayed in their Le Corbier property and the pictures suggest that it's been renovated and seems to be quite nicely done. At the moment Mrs NBT is not allowed to ski so I can't book, but thought I'd share the link so others can avail themselves

@mikeycharlton, I've often been interested in Rocketski holidays although never bitten the bullet. I understand that the properties can be a little tired and are generally used for school ski trips. Often the rooms are sold when a school hasn't filled the hotel, or they haven't had a booking that week. When I've checked them out for a quote the website does ask you to tick a box to say you understand that there might be a school group staying there that week.

Indeed, they're the "regular" arm of Equity the school ski specialists. I;ve been with them a couple of times - you do get what you pay for. HOwever as I say the hotel in Le Corbier has been updated since we stayed there.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

@nbt, guess you'd be staying at the Morgan in Risoul. Lots of school and scout groups most of the time. If you're not bothered about that, then you'd probably be OK.

@dobby, yes, that's the Risoul hotel. Won't be there myself, not allowed to go skiing as things stand

Maybe that's why it's cheap at Christmas, not many school groups want to go then?

Doubt they'll be available when we get round to deciding, but if they are we'd be willing to have a go for only £300.

that's what i'm thinking.
Reviews on trip advisor are generally good/ok. The only down side seems to be the schools (doubt they'll be there at Christmas), and the fact that there is a nightclub adjacent to the hotel.
Don't really know much about the resort, but piste map and altitude seem decent.
