Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

ISIA database of Instructors

The ISIA now has an active database of all instructors who hold the ISIA Stamp (BASI L3) and ISIA Card (BASI L4) http://isia.cogitoweb.it/en/search so you can check to see if your instructor holds a current qualification.

There is also a very useful listing of all Nations Qualifications so you can see what each countries "levels" are http://isia.cogitoweb.it/en/associates

Interesting...I could not find any description about the Levels and Codes?

What does a Level 2 mean in ISIA terms....not to be confused with Level 2 in BASI terms.
I think it means what we generally take to mean "ISIA" as a qualification, Level 1 being "ISTD"

Is that correct?
If so if you have an ISIA recognised Level 2 in a discipline can you then ask for an ISIA card?

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Level 2 = ISIA Stamp = BASI L3
Level 1 = ISIA Card = BASI L4

Thanks, the reason I ask is because The Lass has done Adaptive 2 and Mountain Safety in BASI.
On the ISIA qualifications list you linked to that would suggest she has met the criteria to be ISIA in that discipline.

I just thought that a bit of a puzzle, but perhaps it is the case.

@rungsp, confusing isn't it... I think that if you are the highest level in your associations discipline you are eligible for the stamp but not necessarily the Card. say in BASI you are an L3 Telemark you get an ISIA Stamp or Adaptive L3 you get Stamp.

BASI sits on the fence with the ISIA on the one hand seem to be active members on the other side with the FEMPs group (IT AU and FR) on many things to the detriment of most members.

I noticed that too @rungsp. Interesting if true. The telemark BASI L2 is also apparently listed as ISIA standard, whereas to reach that standard in alpine you have to be a BASI L3

http://isia.cogitoweb.it/en/associates/15

I suspect that the confusion may just be that there isn't an ISTD level qualification in the BASI telemark and adaptive disciplines listed on that page.
